Temple mathematicians honored

Temple Mathematics Assistant Professor Benjamin Seibold and graduate student Shimao Fan have been awarded the 2013 Greenshields Prize, by the Committee on Traffic Flow Theory & Characteristics of the Transportation Research Board. They received the award for their paper, "A comparison of Data-Fitted First Order Traffic Models and Their Second Order Generalizations Via Trajectory and Sensor Data," which was published in the proceedings of the TRB’s 92nd annual meeting. The award will be presented at the January 2014 annual national Transportation Research Board meeting in Washington, D.C.
