Stuart Schmidt, PhD, is a human resource management professor at the Fox School of Business. His research focuses on leadership, organizational politics, dynamics of virtual authority relationships, cross-cultural team relationships and the power of wielding power. He has published research on virtual work relationships, finding that employees communicating virtually sense less managerial support, have less trust in their managers and do not foster the same level of collaborative relationships with their managers.
