Temple has been awarded a $635,000 grant from the Knight Foundation to train high-school and college-age students from the North Philadelphia area on how to develop apps. The grant will enable 300 students to take part in six-week programs at Temple's Urban Apps and Maps Studios over the next three summers. Students will work to create apps to help solve problems encountered by residents of urban communities.
