Temple researcher finds link between fatty diet, colon cancer

Epigenetic markers in healthy colon tissue of colon cancer patients may provide clues to how a fatty diet may increase colon cancer risks a Temple study has found. "There have always been questions about why things like diet and obesity are independent risk factors for colon cancer. This study suggests how and why high-fat diets are linked to colon cancer," said lead researcher Carmen Sapienza of Temple's Fels Institute for Cancer Research.
