Joseph Labolito

Temple Football opens its 115th season at Notre Dame on Saturday, August 31. The game will be nationally televised on NBC, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. EDT.

If you can’t make it to South Bend, Ind., for the game, then you might want to join students, faculty, staff and alumni to watch the game at gatherings on campus, across the country and around the world. Among the activities planned are:

  • An on-campus watch party at the Temple Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and open to all students, faculty and staff, and free food will be provided while supplies last. Attendees can also pick up a 2013 Temple Football poster and be entered into prize drawings. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
  • A watch party for alumni and fans at Chickie’s and Pete’s Crab House and Sports Bar in Drexel Hill, Pa. The party begins at 3:30 p.m. and will be hosted by 102.9 WMGK-FM's Ray Koob, who will be awarding prizes, including tickets for the Temple home opener versus Houston.
  • Regional alumni chapter watch parties in Richmond, San Diego, Dallas and Tel Aviv.

The Owls' radio broadcast will air on 97.5 FM The Fanatic, and Temple's student station, WHIP Radio, will broadcast the game online.

You can also follow all of the action live on Twitter at  @templeuniv and @owlsports_com

Saturday’s contest is the first meeting between Temple and Notre Dame in football. The opponents are scheduled to meet again in Philadelphia in 2015, and in South Bend in 2017.

Temple returns home to Philadelphia to host Houston in its home and American Athletic Conference opener on Sept. 7.  Kickoff is set for Noon at Lincoln Financial Field.  ESPN Regional (shown locally on 6ABC) will televise the game as the Conference Game of the Week.
