Temple’s commitment to the community was on display at Tanner Duckrey Elementary School in North Philadelphia Friday, Jan. 17, as students in the College of Education and members of Temple’s Institutional Advancement team celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a day of service. Volunteers discussed King’s life with kindergarten through third-grade students.

Throughout the day, students and volunteers decorated banners illustrating their hopes and dreams for their neighborhoods. In addition, the youngsters created cards for patients at Temple University Hospital to honor King’s idea of giving back.

Today, the Temple community also will particpate in the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. View a complete list of service projects in the area.
