Temple grads build new-media empire

Ryan S. Brandenberg
Temple alumni Chris Wink and Brian James Kirk founded one of Philadelphia's top media start-up companies, Technical.ly Philly, and launched the successful Philly Tech Week.

In 2008, Chris Wink, CLA '08, was a recent college graduate facing the worst recession in years. Today, with the help of friend and business partner Brian James Kirk, SMC '09, he heads one of Philadelphia's top media startup companies, Technical.ly Philly. Philly Tech Week, which takes place April 17-25, is the duo's biggest success, with hundreds of attendees expected.

On Thursday, April 16, Wink will be back on Temple's Main Campus as the keynote speaker for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute's annual Be Your Own Boss Bowl, where he is also the 2015 recipient of the Temple Self-Made & Making Others Award.

Read about Wink's and Kirk's rise to the top of Philly's new-media landscape in this recent Philadelphia magazine story.
