On April 24–26, Owls from around the world will return to Philadelphia for Alumni Weekend 2015. This year’s schedule has something for everyone, including performances, sports events, festivals, reunions for several classes and schools, and—for the first time—an all-alumni party.

“This all-alumni event gives everyone an opportunity to connect across schools and classes,” said Lisa Vaccarelli, executive director of alumni programming. “We’re really excited about it.”

Last year, Alumni Weekend drew more than 13,500 attendees, up from 5,600 a year earlier. The momentum continues as Alumni Weekend enters its fifth year with the most exciting lineup of events yet.

Over an inspiring view of the Delaware River, Owls can connect during Career Networking Night, hosted by the Refinery at SugarHouse Casino on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. On Friday, April 24, Citizens Bank Park will shine with cherry and white during a Temple Takeover at the Phillies with the game against the Atlanta Braves starting at 7:05 p.m. Alumni are also invited to a special reception before the game at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 25, kicks off with the Capt. Eileen Bradley 5K Run & Fun Walk, a three-lap tour of Temple’s Main Campus. Last year’s run drew 400 participants, and Vaccarelli expects more than 500 runners to participate this year. The run concludes at the Bell Tower Festival, which takes over Polett Walk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with activities for all ages and a beer garden sponsored by alumni-owned Victory Brewing Company.

Later in the day, get a first look at the Owls football team at the Cherry & White Spring Football Game. Tailgaters are welcome when the gates open at Edberg-Olson Hall Football Complex at noon; kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Temple’s first all-alumni party will cap off the day. With a nod to the Parisian tradition of pop-up dinner parties known as Dîner en Blanc, Temple is inaugurating Dîner en Cherry. All Owls are encouraged to don cherry and white attire and gather at one of the rendezvous points on campus at 6 p.m. to learn the secret location of this unique celebration of Temple pride.

On Sunday, April 26, Temple honors its commitment to the community with a TU Cares Day of Service. Alumni will join with students and local residents to work on several projects in North Philadelphia—from fixing fences to stocking food pantries. The event begins at the Bell Tower at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon with the dedication of Temple’s first sponsored mural in Philadelphia.

Register, learn the full details and plan your weekend at alumni.temple.edu/alumniweekend. Online registration for Alumni Weekend events closes April 19.
