Cybersecurity lessons are focus of Temple MESA students’ DC visit

During a trip to Washington D.C. last month, 30 Philadelphia middle and high school students who are part of Temple Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement's Mobile Apps/Technology Initiative heard presentations on the importance of cybersecurity from members of the White House National Security Staff, the U.S. Navy and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Area school students unveil apps, wind-powered devices at weekend STEM events

Last weekend, two events were held as part of Temple’s commitment to advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics education among students from disadvantaged and under-resourced schools. On Friday, students from local high schools graduated from a three-month design studio in which they developed mobile applications. On Saturday, other area students competed in a competition in which they designed and built devices to harness wind energy.
