On Thursday, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter convened a panel of civic and municipal leaders to discuss the potential effect of proposed reductions in funding for educational and social services that benefit citizens of the Philadelphia region. Temple Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer Anthony Wagner outlined Temple’s contributions to the region, its economic impact and the effect the proposed reductions would have on the university and city.

Temple creates new scholarship program for North Philadelphia students

Temple has created 250 four-year scholarships to be awarded over 10 years to students in the North Philadelphia neighborhoods surrounding Main Campus. Temple President Ann Weaver Hart celebrated the 2011 20/20 scholarship recipients at an awards ceremony yesterday with Mayor Michael Nutter and other elected officials.
