PECO scholarship program helps blaze trail for high potential students with financial challenges

The PECO Scholars Program awards $25,000 to students who demonstrate a high degree of academic achievement and leadership potential but who still have unmet financial need. In coordination with Temple’s Russell Conwell Center, the program has identified and awarded scholarships to 36 students since its inception three years ago.

The next installment of Temple's student profile series features Michael Busza, the creative mind behind "One of the Guys," a full-length web television series that explores the relationship between three gay men and their straight roommate. An Honors Program student majoring in communications and English with a minor in business, Busza is the first recipient of the MarcDavid LGBTQ Scholarship.

Surprise scholarship announcement at Musser Awards leaves tourism students speechless

At the Fox School of Business's Musser Awards dinner Wednesday, 20 School of Tourism and Hospitality Management sophomores competing for a single $10,000 scholarship learned that the prize had been increased to $12,000, and that each would be awarded that amount. The awards were made possible through a $240,000 donation from Korman Communities founder Steven H. Korman, who made the announcement after receiving the prestigious Musser Award at the event.

Temple expands academic scholarship program

Temple has launched a new academic scholarship program for incoming freshman that offers more aid across more levels of achievement and brings the total amount of financial aid awarded by Temple to $90 million per year. The program, which starts with the class entering in fall 2013, is the latest in a series of moves by Temple to increase college affordability.

Temple creates new scholarship program for North Philadelphia students

Temple has created 250 four-year scholarships to be awarded over 10 years to students in the North Philadelphia neighborhoods surrounding Main Campus. Temple President Ann Weaver Hart celebrated the 2011 20/20 scholarship recipients at an awards ceremony yesterday with Mayor Michael Nutter and other elected officials.
