Science campers study marine life during day at the beach

More than 50 school students from throughout the Greater Philadelphia area spent a day learning about beach ecology and clearing plastic debris in the Delaware Bay as part of the two-week ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp hosted by Temple’s College of Science and Technology. Other camp activities included a camping trip to the Poconos, a visit to a coal mine, collection and analysis of pond water samples and a demonstration of the mathematics underlying the Mayan Calendar.

Summer science lessons click at Lego robotics camp at Temple Ambler

Temple Ambler's “Lego Mindstorms NXT Robotics for Beginners” recently gave a group of students aged 8-14 an opportunity to boost their creativity by building robots out of Legos. Using a variety of Lego pieces, including a brick containing a microcomputer, the students built robots and programmed them to complete a series of challenges.

Held July 5 through 8 at the Ambler Campus, the camp hosted a full slate of young wizards and witches ready to put on the sorting hat and join House Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin.
