Temple has created a special task force to review in detail the Report of the Special Investigative Counsel ("the Freeh Report") of July 12, 2012 in order to identify potential implications for Temple and potential recommendations for action if warranted by its findings. The task force will make a final report on its findings and any recommendations to the chairman of the Board of Trustees, University Counsel and the acting president on September 15.

In the latest installment of the faculty profile series, Robert Levis, director of the Center for Advanced Photonics Research and chair of the Chemistry Department, discusses his work in the Laser Lab studying molecules by using high-tech lasers.
Journalism major fostering new child welfare laws on Capitol Hill

School of Media and Communication student Marchelle Roberts is one of 15 college students participating in the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Foster Youth Internship program in Washington, D.C. During the summer-long program Roberts is assisting the office of Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu in advancing child welfare initiatives.

Ma among many recognized for recent achievements

Grace X. Ma, professor of Public Health and director of the Center for Asian Health, will present "A Community-Based Participatory Approach to a Hepatitis B Intervention for Underserved Korean Americans" today at the National Institutes of Health's Health Disparities Seminar Series. Ma is one of several members of the Temple Community whose awards and achievements are highlighted this month in the Accolades section of the university news site.

Applications are now available for the annual Welcome Week event, TempleFest. Display the programs and services of your department or organization during this fair on Liacouras Walk. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 23, from 1-5 p.m. The deadline to submit applications, which can be found at Student Activities' website, is Friday, August 3.

 

Buying locally made or grown products helps support the local economy and helps reduce carbon emissions. An easy way to buy local is through Temple’s on-campus Farmers’ Market. Throughout the summer, locally made or grown products are available on Cecil B. Moore Avenue, outside Ritter Hall, from 2 to 6 p.m. Stop by to pick up fresh and local food.
