New Temple "Owlcard" identification cards have been issued to Temple staff through department supervisors. Old OWLcards should be used through Sept. 9; the new cards will be activated on Sept. 10.

Starting Sept. 1, the Office of Institutional Research, including the Measurement and Research Center, will be relocated to Academic Affairs and Assessments. As part of this transition, Academic Affairs will be renamed Academic Programs, Assessment and Institutional Research.

Beginning Monday, August 27, the Shuttle Bus service from Ambler to Main Campus will run from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The last bus departing for Main Campus will leave the Ambler bus shelter located near East Hall at 5:30 p.m. The Shuttle Bus service from Main Campus to Ambler Campus will operate from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The last bus departing Main Campus for Ambler will leave 12th and Polett Walk at 6:30 p.m. There will continue to be Shuttle Bus service between the Ambler Campus and the Ambler Train Station for access to the SEPTA Lansdale-Doylestown/Center City trains.

Bike commuters pedal to top in national mileage competition
As part of the National Bike Challenge, members of the Temple community have spent their summer logging the number of miles they have biked. Temple is currently ranked 13th in the nation and has logged more miles than Drexel and Penn bikers combined.
Summer camp focuses Philadelphia students on STEM careers
To encourage students to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and math, Temple hosted 59 Philadelphia middle school students for a two-week summer science camp.

Temple University has joined Philadelphia Home Buy Now, which provides a matching grant from the city to purchase a home in Philadelphia. The program will provide financial support up to $5,000 to staff and faculty who purchase homes near the university's Main Campus and Health Sciences Center.

Faculty can receive syllabus advice from consultants from the Teaching and Learning Center, ISC or the Library.

The session will provide information on graduate and undergraduate degree programs offered at Temple's Center City Campus.

This hour-long virtual session will review the features within the Wimba Live Classroom.

Friday, 10-11 a.m.; Tuesday, 4-5 p.m. Both sessions will meet online.

 

Both games will take place at Geasey Field.

Temple's Seasonal Law Enforcement Professional Development Program graduation will include a color guard, guest speakers and an awards ceremony recognizing Temple's outstanding park ranger graduates.

Temple Fest is an outdoor festival where students can get all the information they need about student organizations, area vendors and campus departments such as Campus Recreation, University Housing and Residence Life and Campus Safety Services.

Faculty can submit grades via Self-Service Banner through TUportal. Grades are updated to Academic History daily at 5 a.m. (EDT) and are immediately visible to students through SSB. For more information, see Grade Submission on the University Registrar's website.

 

Temple University has teamed up with SEPTA to offer a 10 percent discount on semester-long passes to full time students. The last day to apply for the University Pass is August 21st. Passes can be picked up on August 24th from the Bursar's Office.
