New display system illuminates TU hoops
Last fall, the university installed a larger, more dynamic scoreboard high above center court in the Liacouras Center. The new display has more than 1,800 square-feet of dynamic content, including live action footage, replays, game animations, team logos, student athlete introductions and real-time statistics.

Matt Rhule named new head football coach
During a Dec. 17 press conference, Temple Athletics Director Bill Bradshaw officially introduced Matt Rhule as the Owls' new head football coach. Rhule, who has 15 seasons of coaching experience, is returning to Temple after serving as assistant offensive line coach with the NFL's New York Giants. He has served as an assistant coach at Temple from 2006-2011.
Spirit reaches tipping point with Temple Mayor's Cup victory
Cherry and White dominated Lincoln Financial Field Friday as 32,000 gathered to watch Temple football capture a decisive victory over crosstown rival Villanova in the final installment of the Mayor's Cup series. Temple fans, clearly constituting a majority of the crowd, filled much of the stadium's lower level and crowded the parking lot for tailgating prior to the game.

Football training camp begins as Temple prepares for BIG EAST return
Football training camp began this week, and the Temple Owls are getting ready for their upcoming return to the BIG EAST. The Owls kick off the season on Friday, Aug. 31 with a Mayor's Cup matchup against Villanova at 7 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. The team's first BIG EAST contest is on Saturday, Oct. 6 at home against South Florida. Tickets for the upcoming season are on sale now at owlstix.com.

Women's rowing takes off under new coach
