Temple held its first Teaching with Technology Symposium March 21. Approximately 240 participants attended presentations and panel discussions about how to incorporate new technology into their lesson plans.
Temple medical students enrich the science experience of seventh- and eighth-graders at nearby Mary McLeod Bethune School in North Philadelphia. Since February 2013, approximately 12 Temple students have been visiting Bethune twice weekly, teaching science lessons to two different classes.

The Teaching and Learning Center series titled Teaching in the Disciplines offers faculty an opportunity to hear about issues and new theories on teaching practices emerging from the disciplines. These workshops discuss both teaching research and the application of ideas.

Ying Zhu, professor of media culture at the College of Staten Island-CUNY, will present “China Central Television: Soft Power and China Model” as a part of the SMC Spring Speakers Series.

Danny Hayes, former journalist and assistant professor of political science, will lead a discussion on U.S. politics and policy. Hayes' research focuses on political communication, political behavior in U.S. politics, and how information from the media and other political actors influences citizens’ attitudes during public-policy debates and election campaigns.
