Temple Trustee H. F. “Gerry” Lenfest, a philanthropist, an entrepreneur and a community leader, will discuss the importance of giving back in a Thursday, April 17, event that kicks off the new Provost Lecture Series.
Owls are gearing up for Temple's 127th Commencement ceremony, to be held Thursday, May 15. In this video, Chief Marshal for Academic Ceremonies Jack Klotz, SMC ’89, explains the history and tradition of academic regalia, and the placement of graduation tassels.

Students may celebrate Thank a Donor Week by stopping by the Bell Tower and taking a few minutes to say thanks to Temple’s donors. Pens and cards will be provided, and participants will be eligible to win a $100 gift card.

Campus representatives from the Peace Corps will provide information about exciting opportunities with that service organization.

Join the Temple Community Garden staff to celebrate the groundbreaking of the flower garden redesign project in the Sonia Sanchez Garden. The ceremony will commemorate the influence of Sonia Sanchez’s poetry on Philadelphia and the beginning of the redesign initiative. Participants are encouraged to write haikus, read them aloud, and plant their words and flower seeds in the garden.

Today, 3 p.m., Sonia Sanchez Garden, Diamond and Carlisle streets.

Temple Theaters will stage the world premiere of Odd Girl Out, an original drama that reveals the hidden, heartbreaking world of bullying and relational aggression among preteen and teenage girls. This play is based on the groundbreaking work of the same name by Rachel Simmons, an internationally renowned researcher, author and “girl power” advocate. 

Wednesday, April 23, 7 p.m., Randall Theater. 

The Institutional Research and Assessment staff will meet with visitors and share information about reporting, testing and assessment. Guests will receive a copy of the new “Temple At-A-Glance” fact sheet and see a preview of the soon-to-be-available fact book.
