The April 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill has had a broader impact on coral communities in the Gulf of Mexico than originally predicted, according to a team of researchers that includes Temple marine biologist Erik Cordes.

Temple University students and faculty members have received eight nominations—the most earned by any college or university in the region—from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for its College/University Production Awards.

Learn about the Gilman Scholarship program, which provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. citizen undergraduates to study abroad.

Pop-Up Pep Rally in Center City

Rittenhouse Square at 18th and Walnut streets will be the location for today's Pop-Up Pep Rally from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The Diamond Marching Band and Diamond Gems Dance Team will provide unsuspecting fans with lunch time music and entertainment, while the spirit squad leads cheers and chants. Some lucky bystanders will win prizes, including Temple swag.
