Temple Student Government has launched Cherry On Fridays, a student-driven effort to encourage all members of the Temple community to wear cherry and white on Fridays. The idea is gaining momentum, with several events planned in advance of the football team’s American Athletic Conference debut at noon Saturday vs. Houston.

Research led by senior investigator Steven R. Houser at the School of Medicine's Cardiovascular Research Center has found that stem cells in cortical, or compact, bone can be more effective than the heart's own stem cells in regenerating heart tissue. The findings, featured on the cover of the August 16 issue of Circulation Research, have considerable implications for stem cell therapy for the heart.
