President Neil D. Theobald's academic background has been perfect preparation for his role at Temple. His upbringing in Peoria, Ill., has been equally important, giving him a unique understanding of the transformational power of education. Theobald will be inaugurated as Temple's tenth president on Friday, Oct. 18.
If you met him when he was a sax player, you might not have known that he was dreaming about being an engineer. In the latest entry of our student profile series, meet C. Mark Halberstadt, co-leader of Temple's NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition team. This May, he and his team will take their robot to Cape Canaveral to compete against other colleges' robots. Will they win? Maybe, but to Mark, the fun part is the designing, the building and the testing.
