Young children are great at remembering facts, but not as good at remembering experiences. That’s because the ability to recall details about autobiographical moments is not fully developed until age five. Temple psychologist Nora Newcombe has designed a way to test this kind of memory in children.

A research team led by Ram Mudambi of Temple's Fox School of Business analyzed patents in the U.S. from 1975 to 2010 in order to uncover innovation trends. They found that Philadelphia has reason to be proud: It outpaces the nation as a whole in terms of innovation connectedness.

Joseph Turow, of the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, will present “Retail Aisles and the Social Imaginary: An Unexpected Territory for Media Research.” Turow has authored eight books and edited five, and has written more than 100 articles about mass-media industries. His surveys of the American public about marketing, new media and society have received a great deal of attention in both the press and the research community.
