Blockson Afro-American Collection Founder Charles L. Blockson discusses his latest publication, The President’s House Revisited Behind the Scenes: The Samuel Fraunces Story, which explores the life of a black man who worked as a spy, a cook and a steward for George Washington in the president’s house in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Jazz Project—which seeks the creation of a Philadelphia Songbook in the tradition of the Great American Songbook—will perform jazz standards and popular songs penned or performed by local artists.

Shakespeare’s finest tragedy about corruption of power and consequences of blind ambition. This play examines the rise and fall of a great tragic hero as he struggles to hold onto his power. The enduring classic is vividly brought to life by seasoned professional director and acting faculty member Dan Kern.
