Editors at Discover magazine devoted the January/Feb 2014 issue to the top 100 science stories of 2013. In story No. 82, Temple Professor of Educational Psychology Frank Farley weighed in on disputes regarding the debut of the fifth edition of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The way we diagnose psychiatric problems is “beyond fixing,” said Farley, who also is former president of the American Psychological Association.
