In an op-ed published on Philly.com, Temple President Neil D. Theobald provides insight into the concerns of holding down students' college costs. Under his leadership, Temple is focusing on three initiatives that will affect student debt: promoting four-year graduation, building financial literacy and creating realistic postgraduate planning.

Senior journalism student Ali Watkins has broken a major, national news story she believes exposes an example of federal government officials operating under a veil of secrecy. The story details an apparent feud between the CIA and the Senate Intelligence Committee over a congressional report on the CIA’s “secret detention and interrogation program.”

This workshop is designed to help participants better engage diverse groups. Participants will learn strategies they can use to create environments where others can feel enough trust, security and motivation to engage honestly and productively about their experiences and perspectives.

Gregg Feistman, published author and public relations specialist, will present a one-hour workshop that highlights the skills needed to become an effective public speaker. The workshop will focus on a speech’s message and structure, and a speaker’s clarity, credibility and confidence. Feistman has more than 30 years of business and PR experience and has been recognized for his outstanding commitment to PR education.

A part of the Green Council's monthly event series, Potlucks with a Purpose is a delicious discussion with professionals from the Philadelphia area. This month, Max Zahniser will discuss how he shaped his career from working on LEED certifications, B Corps and the U.S. Green Building Council to starting his own firm, Sustainability Nexus. The event also will feature resources for finding green jobs.
