The Owls opened the 2014 football season, taking on Vanderbilt University. In a touching tribute to Temple alumnus and Trustee Lewis Katz, CST '63, the Owls wore commemorative patches on their helmets. Also debuting during the nationally televised game was the university's new public service announcement.
The students of the School of Media and Communication Study Away program in South Africa shared stories of their experiences this summer through a special edition of the "Philadelphia Daily News."
August's big national stories emerged from Temple's School of Medicine. Leading the way: an HIV research breakthrough from a team led by Kamel Khalili, Gil Yosipovitch discussing the science of itch on NPR's "Fresh Air" and infectious disease specialist Eileen Farnon joining NBC's "Today Show" to talk about Ebola.
