'The Temple News' and PhiladelphiaNeighborhoods.com earned a total of 22 Student Keystone Press awards, marking the most-ever Keystone accolades in a single year for Temple students. The awards are presented annually by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.
Temple’s Fly in 4 initiative and 20/20 scholarships received praise from state-elected officials Tuesday, when President Neil D. Theobald made the university’s annual appeal for state support. He appeared before the Senate Appropriations Committee in the morning and the House Appropriations Committee in the afternoon.

Health professionals from Independence Blue Cross will conduct screenings for faculty and staff to check height, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol and blood-sugar levels. The screenings are free for full-time employees and faculty members covered by Temple's health plan.

The Distinguished Lecture Series features Mimi Sheller, professor of sociology and founding director of the Center for Mobilities Research and Policy at Drexel University. She is the author of several books and articles in the field of Caribbean studies, including Democracy After Slavery, Consuming the Caribbean, Citizenship from Below and Aluminum Dreams: The Making of Light Modernity.

This panel about food workers and recent Jewish-led efforts to secure fair wages and working conditions is co-sponsored by the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History at Temple, the Jewish Farm School, Kol Tzedek, Congregation Rodeph Shalom and Fair Food Philly. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
