Given the success of #TUgradshoes in 2013, Temple Photographer Betsy Manning, SMC ’87, CLA ’08, will set up a pop-up shoe-cam again for the Class of 2014. As graduates assemble in the Liacouras Center before Commencement begins, they also may show off their eye-catching footwear. Temple’s social-media team will post the photos using the hashtag #TUgradshoes.
As 40,000 runners made their way down Philadelphia’s main thoroughfare for the 2014 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run May 4, Owls gathered at Broad Street and Polett Walk on Main Campus to cheer on race participants.
Journalism major Ali Watkins broke a national story as an intern at McClatchy DC News.
Recent media hits featuring Temple faculty and staff include a “Philadelphia Daily News” story about President Theobald’s “Organizational Change at Temple University” class, the listing of 58 Temple physicians in “Philadelphia” magazine’s annual “Top Docs” issue and two “New York Times” appearances by mathematician John Allen Paulos.

The canines of Therapy Dogs International will visit campus during finals. Stop by to play with dogs for stress relief and a study break. For more information, visit Temple Libraries.

The 30th annual Celebration of Black Writing, one of the nation’s oldest African-American literary festivals, will honor author Ernest Gaines, introduce the inaugural Gamble & Huff Award for Excellence in Songwriting and host a monthlong exhibit about the Atlantic City, N.J., landmark called Chicken Bone Beach. The month of programming includes:
