In the weeks leading up to Temple's 127th annual Commencement excercises, Temple Today has been profiling select degree candidates from across the university. Some of these 2014 graduates also will be featured in a special Commencement edition of Temple Times, which will be distributed Thursday at the main ceremony in the Liacouras Center and at school and college ceremonies. Wilfred Beaye, a transfer student from Bucks County Community College, will attend Harvard Law School this fall. Beaye, who is the first in his family to attend college, says he owes much to his mother, who left behind her life and family in Liberia to move to the U.S. after his father’s death.
With landscape architecture major Thu Ngan Han leading the charge, fresh vegetables will soon be popping up in a community garden located in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia. This will be the 25-plot garden’s second growing season.
As president of Temple’s Engineers Without Borders student chapter, mechanical engineering major James Furman II led the group in establishing a connection with a local community garden. Now, the organization is designing a solar-powered, hydroponic growing system that will increase the garden’s yield.

Parking reassignment plan for Commencement

Temple University’s 127th Commencement exercises for the Class of 2014 will take place Thursday, May 15. To ensure that graduates and their guests have convenient parking available, monthly, semester and part-time parkers must be relocated temporarily. For a complete list of reassignments, visit the Office of Parking Services.
