Faces of Temple: Laine Radell

In the final "Faces of Temple" student profile of the spring semester, meet Laine Radell, who was "leery" about science until she enrolled in a new GenEd course, "The Chemistry of Wine." Now the chemistry major is about to have her first scientific paper published with her name listed as the primary author, all because she was bold enough to walk into a professor's office and ask how she could get involved in hands-on research — with lasers.

Mortensen connects dots between social work and planning

Mortensen was among the few hundred selected this year for the Presidential Management Fellows program, a prestigious two-year paid government fellowship that provides her with the opportunity to work with a variety of United States government agencies.

Bio major helps improve the community, one student at a time

Gary Cheung, B.S., Biology. Cheung spent his years at Temple volunteering for Squash Smarts, a unique after-school program that mixes athleticism with education. The experience helped him realize that he has a passion for teaching and that he wants to continue to work in a field that helps serve urban youth.
