ACES at Temple fosters community for young adults and their caregivers
Hosted by TechOWL at the Institute on Disabilities, the Augmentative Communication Empowerment and Supports (ACES) program offered opportunities for young adult users of augmentative and alternative communication to improve their skills and connect with others.

In July, Temple’s TechOWL (Technology for Our Whole Lives) at the Institute on Disabilities welcomed participants to its Augmentative Communication Empowerment and Supports (ACES) program.
During this week-long immersive experience, young adult users of augmentative and alternative communication engaged in daily communication classes and adaptive recreation activities at inclusive, accessible spaces in Morgan Hall, Ritter Hall and the TechOWL Community Space. Recreation activities included adapted baking, yoga, art therapy, gaming and a dance class.
The program culminated in a celebration highlighting participants’ accomplishments.
