Access to Excellence surpasses $300 million

When Temple University launched the public phase of its first comprehensive fundraising campaign before more than 1,000 supporters gathered at the National Constitution Center last year, the goal was ambitious: to raise $350 million by Dec. 31, 2009. With 18 months remaining, Temple reached a milestone when it closed the 2008 fiscal year with more than $300 million raised.

Gifts to the campaign will affect almost every corner of the university, from renovating the historic Baptist Temple and completing new facilities to building endowment and funding research, academics and community programs.

“Our achievement is a testament to the dedication of the Temple community and a clear window into what is possible in the months to come,” said President Ann Weaver Hart.

With the campaign goal within reach, there has never been a better time to be part of the Temple community or to support its mission of providing students of every background and means with access to an education of remarkable quality.
