Boyer musicians to perform at Kimmel Center

This weekend, Temple’s musical talents will be on display at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

On Friday, March 28, alumni and student jazz musicians from the Boyer College of Music and Dance will perform a tribute to professor and acclaimed trumpeter Terell Stafford, prior to and following an 8 p.m. ticketed performance by the Stafford and Wayne Shorter Quartets in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall.

While the Friday night performances are not sponsored by Temple, discounted tickets are available for Temple students and employees. The musical tributes, which begin at 6:30 and 10:30 p.m., are free, and tickets for the Stafford and Shorter performances can be purchased at 215-893-1999, www.kimmelcenter.org and the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. To redeem the 20 percent discount offer, concertgoers must use the promo codeword STAFFORD when making their purchase.
