Thomas Morgan’s parents, Thomas and Maria Morgan, pin on his rank at the Temple Army Reserve Officers Training Corps’ annual Spring Commissioning Ceremony, held May 20. Upon completion of college-level Army ROTC requirements, cadets earn the rank of second lieutenant and are commissioned for military service. Morgan and four other cadets were commissioned at the ceremony. Since the ROTC program’s inception at Temple in 1948, the program has commissioned more than 1,000 officers into the active Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. |
Morgan, who graduated in May with a degree in history, was commissioned in the Army Corps of Engineers. He will attend the Engineer Officer Basic Course, held at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., before his first assignment with the 3rd Infantry Division in Fort Stewart, Ga.
