Global Temple Conference showcases student and faculty views of the world

From a Geisha guy at Halloween in Kawasaki, Japan to children at a tannery in Marrakesh, Morocco, the worldviews of students and faculty were showcased in the International Photography Contest 2008 at the third annual Global Temple Conference on Nov. 11.

The photos were one of many ways that students and faculty shared their views of the world through creative and research works at the conference, held at the Howard Gittis Student Center.

“Temple is a world-class university rich in international activity,” said Interim Vice President of International Affairs Adelaide

Provost Lisa Staiano-Coico challenged students not to leave the conference without enhancing their world views.

“This conference is the perfect example of how Temple touches the world through its faculty and students,” she said. “I want you to get the e-mail or Facebook address of someone here who has a different world view than yours. Reach out and see the world from another perspective.”
