New site showcases Temple’s global reach

Temple’s newly established Office of International Affairs has launched its new web site at www.temple.edu/international.

According to Adelaide Ferguson, interim vice president, the site demonstrates the breadth of the university’s global reach.

“Temple has more than 120 international partnerships, programs and activities that span the globe,” said Ferguson. “Now these impressive international accomplishments are available for both the university community and the world to see.”

The site features a seven-layer world map that visually encapsulates Temple’s global presence. It includes the location of Temple’s global partnerships; student opportunities abroad; international campuses; faculty collaboration, research; professional training; international students and scholars; and alumni living abroad.

Ferguson points to the site paving the way for more collaboration among the schools and colleges, and with global partners.

“We hope that the availability of centralized data on international education at Temple will inspire our deans, faculty and staff to create new initiatives and stimulate thinking about the varied ways global Temple relates to their portfolio,” she said.

Now, using the newly enhanced faculty and staff international expertise database, faculty and staff can find experts by name, department, country and region.”

Faculty and staff can also use the new web site as a resource for help planning an international business trip on Temple’s behalf, and hosting international visitors and delegations. In addition, they can link to international education resources.
