History professor Bryant Simon traveled to more than 400 Starbucks coffee shops during a year of research for his forthcoming book, Consuming Starbucks.

His book examines the Starbucks coffee culture, a phenomenon so strong that 10 years ago, it led a man by the name of Winter to begin an attempt to visit every Starbucks in the world.

His tally to date: 6,233 North American stores visited and 409 international stores visited.

On Feb. 21, Temple University’s American Studies Program, chaired by Simon, will host the East Coast premier of Starbucking, a documentary film chronicling Winter’s journey.

There will be question and answer session with Winter and Simon following the viewing of the film.
