Owls progress to NCAA qualifier on April 17

Just one day after capturing the Eastern College Athletic Conference team championship, the Temple men's gymnastics team earned three gold medals at the ECAC Championships on April 5 from West Point to cap off the outstanding weekend.

After capturing the all-around crown the previous day, senior Luke Vexler added another gold medal as he tied teammate sophomore Patrick McLaughlin to finish first in the floor event (15.000). Vexler was also honored as the ECAC Senior of the Year. The gold medals highlighted an all-around great day for both Vexler and McLaughlin.

Velxer also placed fourth on vault (15.300), rings (14.300) and high bars (13.800), while McLaughlin (15.700) took home the silver on the vault. Sophomore Scott Bloomfield took home the gold medal on vault (16.125) to capture the first ECAC medal of his career.
