Temple readies for Cherry and White Day 2010



The annual Cherry and White intra-squad men’s football game will be held on the Owl’s practice field at 11th and Diamond streets.

 


Fencing exhibitions are among the

activities planned for Cherry and White Day.

Cherry and White Day, an annual celebration of Temple Athletics, will be held Saturday, April 17 on Temple’s Main and Ambler Campuses.

Ambler events begin at 8 a.m. at the Ambler Sports Conference with a women’s soccer three-on-three tournament, with ticket proceeds to support AIDS Education in Africa. Later in the day, a men’s soccer alumni match will be held.

Main Campus events begin at 11:30 a.m. and include an alumni basketball game at McGonigle Hall, a women’s tennis match vs. Fordham at the TU Pavilion and gymnastics and fencing exhibitions at the football complex.

At 2 p.m., the annual Cherry and White intra-squad men’s football game will be held on the Owl’s practice field at 11th and Diamond streets, along with a student barbecue featuring free food and give-away items. Tailgating will be held in nearby lot 10 beginning at 9 a.m., and Diamond Street will be closed to traffic for block party festivities. A kids zone will be also be set up on the grounds of the football complex beginning at 1 p.m.

Parking will be available at the reduced rate of $6 in lot #10, located on Diamond Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets. If the lot becomes full, guests will be directed to adjacent available parking.
