'The Ultimate Cost of War'

Michael Berg
Anti-war activist Michael Berg, whose son was a contractor killed in Iraq, will speak about the war at Temple on Feb. 9.
Longtime peace activist Michael Berg gained national recognition in 2004, following the death of his son Nick in Iraq.

Nick, a telecommunications contractor, was kidnapped and beheaded by an Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group in that country.

His father has since traveled the country calling for an end to the war in Iraq.

On Friday, Feb. 9, Michael Berg will lead a Dissent in America teach-in titled “The Ultimate Cost of War.”

The Dissent in America teach-ins are an outgrowth of history professor Ralph Young’s course of the same name.

Several of Berg’s speeches and articles are featured in Young’s recently published book Dissent in America: The Voices that Shaped a Nation.

Where: Gladfelter Hall 764

When: Feb. 9, 3:30–5 p.m.
