Weather policy revision will bring earlier updates

Students and employees will get an earlier notification if Temple’s schedule changes because of bad weather, according to recent updates of the inclement weather policy.

According to the revised policy, decisions on schedule changes due to weather with respect to day classes will be made by 5 a.m. on the day affected. A decision regarding the status of evening classes will be made by 2 p.m. on the day affected.

“We know that students, employees and their families have to make important decisions when bad weather strikes, and this commitment to give them earlier information will help,” Executive Vice President Clarence D. Armbrister said.

The university is committed to operate normally except under the most severe weather conditions that pose a threat to the public safety or make it impossible for significant numbers of students to attend classes.

A decision to change the day’s schedule will be made by 5 a.m. and information will be distributed as quickly as possible afterward. The university uses several ways to get official notification to students and employees, including:

• KYW-AM and WRTI-FM radio.

• The university’s home page, www.temple.edu.

• The weather hot line at 215-204-1975.
