Jin J. Juo, assistant professor and director of EmG/neuromuscular medicine in the departments of Neurology and Pharmacology at the School of Medicine, co-presented the following presentations at the 60th annual meeting of the American Academy Neurology in Chicago, held April 12 through 19: “Direct infusion of adenoviral vectors containing amyloid precursor protein (APP) genes into mouse hippocampus failed to cause neuronal loss”; “Effects of lipopolysaccharide, EDTA, and glucose on muscle cell viability in culture relevant to the conditions of sepsis, hypocalcemia, and hyperglycemia in the development of critical illness myopathy”; “Acquired severe polyneuropathy in non-intubated patients of intensive care unit (ICU): Is this a subtype of critical illness polyneuropathy (CIP)?”; and “Is hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy) an independent risk factor for peripheral neuropathy?”
