Stephen Lepore, professor of public health at the College of Health Professions and the Social & Behavioral Health Interventions Lab, received a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health for the project “School-based expressive writing intervention trial to youth exposed to community violence.” The grant provides $959,664 from June 2008 to May 2011, and will be used to test the efficacy of a school-based expressive writing intervention to reduce psychological distress and behavioral problems in children exposed to community violence in Philadelphia.
