Comedian and Temple Alumnus David Brenner dead at 78

David Brenner, a Temple communication graduate who went on to become one of the nation’s best-known stand-up comics for more than four decades, died over the weekend. He was 78. A favorite of Johnny Carson, Brenner made more than 150 appearances as a guest and substitute host on Carson's "Tonight Show," starting in the 1970s. He graduated from Temple in 1961.
