Temple Ambler closes for two weeks
To the Ambler Campus community:
Temple University is focused on ensuring the health and safety of our community members and campus and Arboretum visitors. The university is taking several measures to keep everyone safe amid the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
On March 12, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced that all Montgomery County schools, including universities, would be closed for two weeks. In accordance, Temple University Ambler closed, effective 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.
Temple University’s U.S. campuses will end in-person instruction on Friday, March 13 and begin online and alternative learning methods on Monday, March 16. Those methods will continue through the end of the spring semester for all U.S. campuses.
Tyler School of Art and Architecture students who have work or belongings at Ambler should contact Miranda Westrick for more information. All other Ambler Campus students should contact Tara Stasik with questions.
Regretfully, Temple University Ambler and the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University must take the necessary measure of postponing or rescheduling, where possible, all events and programs through the end of the spring semester, April 27.
Please note that the last inter-campus bus service between Temple Ambler and Main Campus will be on Saturday, March 14, with the final departure from Main Campus taking place at 7 p.m.
The regular Friday schedule will be in place on March 13. The last bus will depart Main Campus at 7 p.m.
Shuttle service to the Ambler Train Station will also be suspended. The last shuttle to depart Temple Ambler for the Ambler Train Station on Friday, March 13, and on Saturday, March 14, will be at 4:40 p.m. It will return to campus at 5:25 p.m.
All university communications and a list of frequently asked questions about COVID-19 and Temple’s response are published online. This page is updated regularly, and is an important resource for the latest information on the changes taking place at Temple.
The social distancing measures implemented on campus are a significant transition. We thank you for your cooperation during these extraordinary circumstances. As a campus community, together we will see it through.
Sincerely,
Vicki Lewis McGarvey
Vice Provost for University College
Interim Director, Temple Ambler
