Temple names its chief of staff
To the Temple community,
I am pleased to announce that Sophia Lee, an executive leader whose legal career has spanned both law firm and corporate settings, has been named chief of staff and was formally appointed to the role at the Board of Trustees meeting last Tuesday.
This is a key position for the university, and Sophia’s appointment comes at a key time. Within this new role, she will help oversee daily university operations while also working closely with other members of Temple’s administration to help lead and implement the five strategic priorities that will drive this institution moving forward.
Sophia is a current partner in the litigation practice at Blank Rome LLP, where she was also the firm’s chief diversity and inclusion officer. Recently, she served as trial counsel for Governor Tom Wolf, the secretary of education, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education in a high-profile constitutional case regarding the fair funding of public education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
I invite you to learn more about Sophia in this news story. As a proven executive leader, I have no doubt that she will flourish in this role.
Please join me in welcoming her to the Temple family.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jason Wingard
President
