Alumni and friends contribute nearly $1 million during Temple Giving Days
In total, more than 1,400 donors contributed over $900,000 during the weeklong fundraising event, which coincides with Temple Made Days.

More than 1,400 Temple University alumni and friends came together to raise more than $900,000 during the fourth annual Temple Giving Days, which was held from March 31 through April 5. The total eclipses the $600,000-plus that was raised last year during the multiday event.
Temple Giving Days is a weeklong fundraising event designed to unite the Temple community through a philanthropic celebration. Since its launch in 2022, the event has aligned with Temple Made Days, an annual celebration of Temple pride and spirit.
This year, Temple Made Days—and by association, Temple Giving Days—took on even greater significance as the week culminated with the investiture ceremony of John Fry as the university’s 15th president.
“I am deeply grateful for the continued support of our dedicated alumni and friends,” Fry said. “One thing about the Temple community is that all its members seem to have a deep connection to this institution, and that becomes even more apparent during events like Temple Giving Days. I want to say thank you to all who contributed this year. It makes a remarkable difference.”
As part of Temple Giving Days, donors can support a myriad of causes at the university, everything from Temple Athletics and the Diamond Marching Band to University Libraries and Student Success.
“At Temple, every day is a giving day—our community supports the university in meaningful ways all year long,” said Al Checcio, interim vice president of institutional advancement. “But during the dedicated period of Temple Giving Days, we are especially proud of the outpouring of private support that surpassed last year’s total. The extraordinary success of this year’s campaign reflects the deep passion and pride our alumni and friends have for this university. It’s a powerful statement of support—not just for our programs and students, but for the bright future we are building together.”
The success of Temple Giving Days comes at an apropos time for the university. During his investiture address, President Fry noted that he would soon announce the largest and most ambitious fundraising campaign in Temple’s history. The campaign will ultimately run to 2034, which will coincide with the celebration of Temple’s 150th anniversary.
As a precursor to that campaign, during that same address, Fry announced the largest gift in Temple University’s 141-year history. The $27.5 million gift from Sidney and Caroline Kimmel will support the new home for the Klein College of Media and Communication and Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts, which will be named the Caroline Kimmel Pavilion for Arts and Communication.
