Prioritizing your well-being
Dear Colleagues,
At Temple, our people are the driving force behind our success. Our momentum relies on your ability to bring your best to work and life every day, and we are dedicated to providing you with the tools needed to support your well-being.
Earlier this year, we launched the Calm Health app as a new benefit for you and your families. So far, 16% of you have joined Calm Health and are taking advantage of its programs and benefits. If you have not done so yet, please click here.
Temple University’s Division of Health and Well-being, Human Resources, and other university partners have been working to develop additional opportunities to improve your experience and well-being here at Temple with the following programming.
Human Sustainability Index Well-being Program
This new program places an innovative tool in your hands, providing personalized insights into your well-being and directing you to key university resources. It will take just 15 minutes to participate in this anonymous survey about your everyday habits and practices, and by doing so, you will receive a personalized report with information regarding your well-being along eight well-being pathways. The report will connect you directly to Temple benefits, resources and programs to help you improve and thrive in all areas of well-being. Please look out for an email from TUWellbeing@temple.edu for more information about the Human Sustainability Program and plan to invest this time in yourself.
The Well-being Portal
The Well-being tab in TUportal has been redesigned, making it easier to navigate the benefits and resources that matter most to you. Whether you are looking for information on courses focused on improving your financial well-being, your physical health, or your connection to people and activities at Temple, the Well-being portal tab has resources and activities designed to help you achieve your goals and find benefits you may not have known were there.
Lunchtime Walks
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 21, meet at the Owl by the Founder’s Garden at noon and 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday to join your Temple colleagues for either a half mile or mile walk around campus. It is the perfect way to check off a couple of health and well-being goals by taking a break, getting some exercise and connecting with friends.
Homecoming Employee Benefits
As President Fry previously shared, free tickets to Temple’s Homecoming football game this Saturday are available for all employees. We also encourage you to visit the bookstore this week to stock up on all your cherry and white spirit gear for the big game as they are offering a special employee discount of 25%! We hope you will join the Temple community in cheering on the Owls to a Homecoming victory over Navy! More information on Homecoming and Family Weekend can be found here.
Be on the lookout for more information on events and activities by checking the well-being portal regularly and through updates in the monthly THRIVE newsletter.
We look forward to continuing to support your well-being and resilience.
Sincerely,
Mark Denys
