Study seeks to prevent diabetes through TV and Internet

For a pilot study, Comcast will offer customers at risk of diabetes a chance to participate in a study that uses a reality show as well as Internet and telephone monitoring and coaching. Gary Foster, director of Temple’s Center for Obesity Research and Education, said the project was significant from a technological standpoint and because powerful companies are involved. The goal - effectively reaching large numbers of people - “is where we should be going as a country and as a field.”
