When welterweights Ray Robinson and Manuel Guzman square off on Sept. 30 at the National Guard Armory in Philadelphia, it will mark the promotional debut of Brittany Rogers, a senior in Temple's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. "She drinks, eats and sleeps boxing," said Temple alumnus J. Russell Peltz, her mentor. Rogers doesn't intend her Armory show to be a one-and-done. She says she's ready to accept the occasional red-ink soaking until her company, BAM Boxing Promotions, becomes established enough to turn the financial corner. "I would be happy if this first one breaks even," she said. "But I'm here, and I'm here to stay."
