The media hype surrounding the $640 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot keeps growing. "It sort of triggers the imagination in many people. 'What would I do if I won?' It's kind of a dream," said Frank Farley, a professor in Temple's College of Education. But he cites recent studies saying you don't have to dream about half a billion dollars for happiness — not even close. "Up to about the range of $70,000, roughly, a year — as you approach that, it's related to happiness. Beyond roughly $70,000 a year income, it doesn't improve your happiness any."
